Reymart & Hazel

We Are Getting Married

Hazel Añonuevo

Hazel has a big smile and an even bigger heart. She treasures her parents and family deeply, and they remain at the center of everything she does. She loves God and strives to live her life guided by faith, sharing kindness and warmth with everyone around her. While she enjoys being surrounded by loved ones, she also values her quiet moments—times when she can pause, reflect, and think about the deeper things in life. Of course, she also has a fun-loving side: she’s always up for good food and new adventures, especially when it comes to traveling. A blend of thoughtful, joyful, and faithful, Hazel carries kindness and curiosity wherever she goes.

Reymart Reyonda

A compassionate registered nurse with a sunny disposition and a love for the simple things in life. Outside of caring for others, he enjoys grooving to his favorite tunes and exploring virtual worlds through gaming. A homebody at heart, he finds contentment in quiet moments and meaningful connections. Though he loves connecting with others, his introverted side means he can sometimes be shy and need space to recharge.

Our love story

An Unexpected Spark

FEBRUARY 5, 2022

“Started with school questions, ended with the sweetest answer.” It all started when Hazel’s sister, Ate Gillian, mentioned that someone from their life group was also planning to take Nursing at WSU. At that time, Hazel had no idea that this “someone” was Reymart. Like many students preparing to study abroad, Hazel joined a Facebook group for incoming Nursing students. While scrolling, she noticed a name that looked very familiar—Reymart. She had seen this name before in the group chat that her sister had added her to. That’s when she connected the dots: this was the same person Ate Gillian had been talking about. Fast forward to Hazel’s arrival in Australia (a little later than planned due to COVID). By then, Reymart had already started his Nursing course. Since Hazel was still catching up, she often turned to him for help with school—subjects, assessments, and all the usual student struggles. One day, Ate Gillian asked Hazel, “Have you even thanked Reymart for helping you?” That’s when Hazel thought, Oh right, I should! And because she worked at a sushi shop, she decided to bring him sushi as a thank-you. On February 5, 2022, the two finally met in person. At first, it was nothing more than that—just schoolmates and Bible study friends. But before long, they were always heading to campus together, going home together, grabbing meals after uni, and even becoming workmates. Slowly, friendship turned into something deeper. Neither of them expected it, but God had been weaving their story all along—from sushi meet-ups to countless days spent side by side. And now, here they are, ready to begin the rest of their forever.
